Did you know that a lot of common chronic health problems are an inflammatory response in the body. So many suffer with an over load of inflammation and it leads them to dependency on perscription medicines to curb an control their symptoms. Most of these chronic illness can be curbed, controlled and erradicated by a simple lifestyle change!
Inflammation isn't the problem! It is a red light warining your body is giving you that it is fighting off something foriegn, detrimental and dangerous. So knowing that, the most important thing to look for is the CAUSE! What is in our bodies that we need to address. The best place to start is what we are putting INTO our bodies in the way of diet and enviroment.
Unfortunately, our culture makes many of these health invaders common place and therefore it becomes COUNTER CULTURE to stop using them! It takes determination and a radical shift in our thinking and habits to seek to live healthy, inflammation free and long!
Here are a list of some inflammation symptoms. If you have these, your body may be telling you something.
Here are a few things in our diet and enviroment that can be the cause. Changes in lifestyle can't happen all at once. Big doors swing on small hinges so pick two to start eliminating them this week!
- Sugar! Sugar is a main inflammatory trigger in the body! Cancer and fungus feeds on sugar - it's their super food! Start substituting with raw honey or stevia. But don't use a chemical substitute such as splenda or sweet n low! These are linked to cancer, migraines and toxicity in the body. (splenda actually converts to chlorine in the body!)
- Vegtable Oil! It's a triglyceride, trans fat and links to the increase of mortality from coronary heart disease. Great and health promoting oils are cold pressed virgin coconut oil, grapeseed or olive oil.
- Dairy! Many people - 60% to be exact - can't digest cow's milk and are lactose intolerant. Many suffering with IBS have dairy intolerance and the body produces inflammation in the gut!
- Red Meat! Very hard to digest, having red meat on a regular basis can raise inflammation! Your gut is your body's brain. When it is off balance everything else goes haywire! Substitute with fish or a white meat!
- Processed Foods! Turn that package around and read the ingredience! It will double your time at the market but you will learn a lot about what you are eating. If you can't say it, don't buy it! Any chemical that is foreign in the body has to be flushed out through the kidneys and liver. Our bodies are on overload because it can't keep up. This is a huge cause of inflammation!
- Refined Grains! Most of our grains are genetically modified (GMO'S) and don't even resemble the original and our bodies can't digest and process them. The best grain is live and sprouted which has an enzyme that helps digest. These can be found if you look for them in cereals, breads and flours.
- Enviromental Chemicals. Your skin is your largest organ and operates like a sponge. Everything that touches it goes into the blood stream. Household cleaners, cosmetics, lotions, etc all have the potential to infuse your body with toxins that your body struggles to dispose of but can hardly keep up! The substitutes are there but we are way to loyal to products we grew up using and marketers make all too attractive!
SO PICK TWO to tackle this week! The results can be seen quickly and especially in six weeks - symptoms can subside and energy can return. Even emotionally and mentally you can experience a huge change!
